Port Sulphur - Speed Of Light (album)

The Sexual Objects - Marshmallow (Album)

To have a band named Monster Surprise is not the ideal thing when you make searches on the internet but well, i guess it's even worse with The Sexual Objects... and to want a google-friendly name for a band is squarely depressing.
After Cucumber, here is Marshmallow, softer and second album from the band led by Davy Henderson (Fire Engines, Nectarine No.9), a record that could have remained confidential with only one copy (rights included) auctioned off. Luckily it seems that the happy owner has wanted to share it. 300 copies this times, Sold out after a few days.
Cucumber rocked quite a bit, Marshmallow is rather pop with dandy attraits, a song is by the way dedicated to to the deceased and talentuous Kevin Ayers. The album is divided in a first part of 5 songs and a second one of 4 instrumentals. The charm of theses pieces comes a lot from the ensembles of voices and guitars that keep their independance and freedom inside the compositions, together but not orderly, a bit dissonant. It's a little detail that changes a lot and makes the music more lively, and sensual, as it's the main idea.
We are also, and above all, dealing with a hell of melody guys, Cincinnati Blooms, Kevin Ayers, Marshmallow et Astrastube largely prove it, able to go on 16 minutes of dirty and psychedelic rock, the case of Squash.
So it's a not-to-be-missed album of this year.
ps: Make more copies, please
!
