Je n'avais rien annoncé ici encore. Le nouveau Carton Sonore, qui est sorti il y a quelques mois quand même : 21 minutes instrumentales dédiées au saz électrique, accompagné de drones, voix et bruits. J'avais ramené l'instrument d'Istanbul il y a presque 15 ans et n'en avait fait presque que des utilisations secondaires et occasionnelles pour des arrangements. Cet EP était aussi l'occasion de me servir du synthé Korg dispo sur Nintendo DS.

A l'origine ce titre paru en 2015 sur l'EP Chansons Post-Noix possédait un mix stéréo assez particulier : une moitié des pistes dans l'oreille gauche, l'autre dans l'oreille droite, de manière à pouvoir écouter deux chansons différentes en changeant d'écouteur.

Quand Sparks From The Mothership m'a demandé un morceau, j'ai pensé à faire un nouveau mix, ordinaire, de ce morceau qui est un bon exemple de l'esprit pop de Carton Sonore.

In the beginning this song released in 2015 on the EP Chansons Post-Noix had a strange stereo mix : one half of the tracks on the left ear, the other half on the right, so you could listen to two different songs if you changed the earbud.

When Sparks From The Mothership asked me for a song i wanted to do a new, ordinary, mix of this song which is a good example of Carton Sonore's pop spirit.

J'oublie d'en parler ici mais y a eu du nouveau pour Carton Sonore. Tout d'abord une compilation, Tape M'en 10, pour fêter les 10 ans sortie en septembre dernier avec du vieux, du neuf, etc... Ensuite un EP, Vucub Caquix, un peu éloigné de l'habituel, une symphonie bruitiste.

I've forgotten to talk about it on here but there was some news for Carton Sonore. First a compilation, Tape M'en 10, to celebrate 10 years released last september including old stuff, new stuff, etc... Then an EP, Vucub Caquix, a bit distant from the usual, a noisy symphony.

France Gall, Tu l'Aimes Ou Tu La Quittes (Compilation)

En mai dernier Ligature et Barbapop ont sorti les deux volumes d'une généreuse compilation de reprises de France Gall sur laquelle j'ai eu plaisir à participer. France Gall, Tu l'Aimes Ou Tu La Quittes, puisque c'est le titre mordant de cette compilation, a pour but de récolter de l'argent pour deux associations lyonnaises venant en aide aux migrants, Réseau Éducation Sans Frontières (RESF 69) et Jamais Sans Toit.
Car Lyon ne se résume heureusement pas à son ancien maire et désormais ministre de l'intérieur Gérard Collomb connu pour son impitoyable gestion des migrants.
41 chansons de l'artiste décédée cette année revisitées par la scène indépendante française actuelle (principalement à Lyon), pas la plus populaire mais des trésors cachés pop qui au-delà d'un petit geste de solidarité raviront grandement vos tympans, que vous appréciez les originaux ou non.

Last may Ligature and Barbapop have released the two volumes of a generous compilation of France Gall covers on which i had pleasure to participate. France Gall, Tu l'Aimes Ou Tu La Quittes, as it's the biting title of the compilation, aims to collect money for two associations in Lyon helping migrants, Réseau Éducation Sans Frontières (RESF 69) and Jamais Sans Toit.
Because fortunately Lyon does not comes down to its ex-mayor and now minister of the interior Gérard Collomb known for its brutal administration of migrants.

This is a new release by Carton Sonore with voice as the only instrument used and a work on its matter. The songs on Animago (contraction of Anima, breath, and Imago, the representation) approach some myths taken from traditional tales with a different angle questioning the righteousness of some characters.

En 2012 je pensais faire avec Carton Sonore un album de "folk venue de l'espace", j'avais commencé à enregistrer quelques morceaux puis je me suis lancé dans Lullabies From Outer-Space et ai laissé tomber le projet. Finalement je me suis décidé a sortir ces 3 chansons dans un EP intitulé The Futuristic Sound Of Folk Music, la quatrième chanson a été enregistrée l'année dernière après m'être procuré une talk box (Danelectro "Free Speech").

In 2012 i wanted to record with Carton Sonore an album of 'folk music from space', i recorded a few songs then i begin working on Lullabies From Outer-Space and let down the first project. I'm finally releasing these 3 songs on an EP called The Futuristic Sound Of Folk Music, the fourth song was recorded last year when i got my talk box (Danelectro 'Free Speech').

Le premier EP de Broken Jokes devrait voir le jour sous peu.

I started recording with Martin (Broken Jokes/Bisons) in 2012 after many discussions about how we conceive music and a few drinks in Paris. Sleeping Water contains the 6 tracks we have recorded these last two years.

Carton Sonore - Modarn

Une idée qui se baladait dans ma tête depuis un moment : créer une musique qui se construit aléatoirement à l'aide de petites pièces de quelques secondes à peine qui s'enchainent à l'infini.

Écouter un disque en mode aléatoire est un sacrilège, du moins c'est mon avis, mais Modarn a été conçu pour exploiter ce mode et jouer avec.

An idea that's been hanging around in my head for some time: to create music that builds itself randomly using little pieces of a few seconds long that keep coming to infinity.

It's a sacrilege to listen to an album randomly, at least it's my opinion, but Modarn was recorded in order to operate this mode and play with it.

Lullabies from Outer-Space, a Low-Fidelity Odyssey

Il y a un an j'avais enregistré 20 berceuses sorties sous le nom Lullabies from Outer-Space, je venais de me procurer un petit synthé Casio et je voulais faire des morceaux avec. One year ago i've recorded 20 lullabies under the name Lullabies from Outer-Space, i had just purchased a little Casio keyboard and wanted to make little pieces with it. Later i decided to make abstract videos to illustrate each one. You can now watch them online.
