Entre répétitions et improvisations minimalistes, Martin Raack créé des espaces cinématographico-meditatifs, des images presque abstraites qui s'étirent dans le temps au ralenti. Un air de guitare qui tourne en boucle, un synthé qui erre, quelques bruits de fonds, One Day I Would Love To Cook Some Sweet Melodies... est un album d'ambiant lo-fi à tendance folk, enregistré sur deux ans, qui crée sa plaisante bulle.

Les Bisons ont enregistré de nombreuses chansons entre 2005 et 2010, et quelques unes dans un passé moins lointain.
Après la première fournée d'archives sortie un peu plus officiellement en 2013, le duo lo-fi allemand en remet une seconde cette année.
Les chansons que j'avais pu découvrir sur mySpace il y a bien des années me fascinent toujours autant. Il faut dire que les chansons des Bisons enregistrées avec un minimum de matériel, beaucoup d'amitié et par e-mails interposés, foisonnent de mélodies efficaces, touchantes et sans prétention.
Par ces temps de confinement on ne peut que mettre le volume à fond et ouvrir les fenêtres quand vient en 9ème place de cet album The Great Escape, merveille pop parmi d'autres.

Bisons have recorded numerous songs between 2005 and 2010, and some in a less distant past.
After the first batch of archives released a bit more officially in 2013, the German lo-fi duo has released a new one this year.
The songs i had discovered on mySpace many years ago still fascinate me as mutch as before. It's to say that Bisons songs recorded with the minimum equipment, lots of friendship and via emails, are full of catchy, touching and unpretentious melodies.
By these times of confinement the only thing to do is to open the windows and listen at high volume The Great Escape, a pop marvel amongst others.

Carton Sonore & Broken Jokes - Sleeping Water

J'ai commencé a enregistrer avec Martin (Broken Jokes/Bisons) en 2012 après de nombreux échanges sur notre manière de concevoir la musique et quelques rencontres à Paris. Sleeping Water contient les 6 titres que nous avons enregistrés ces deux dernières années.

Le premier EP de Broken Jokes devrait voir le jour sous peu.

I started recording with Martin (Broken Jokes/Bisons) in 2012 after many discussions about how we conceive music and a few drinks in Paris. Sleeping Water contains the 6 tracks we have recorded these last two years.

Voilà pas mal de temps que le duo allemand Bisons enregistre des chansons, mais jusqu'à présent ils n'avaient sorti aucun disque réellement. Voici donc Beauty Is Sin, Orange No Sound, le premier album, qui compile une sélection de 20 titres enregistrés au cours des 8 dernières années.
Les amateurs de lo-fi et/ou de groupes comme Beat Happening, Galaxie 500... devraient y trouver leur compte.
Le titre "White Swan, Green Season" était présent sur la compilation You Don't Have To Be Fashionable, Vol.1. On trouve beaucoup d'autres perles dans ce disque, notamment "Fading Beauty" que je considère comme l'une des meilleures chansons écrites ces 10 dernières annés.

After many years recording songs without releasing any album, the german duo Bisons have finally released their first real album named Beauty Is Sin, Orange No Sound, including a selection of 20 songs recorded during the last 8 years.

The song "White Swan, Green Season" was included in the compilation You Don't Have To Be Fashionable, Vol.1. Many other awesome songs can be found in this album, for example "Fading Beauty" that i consider as one of the best songs i heard these last 10 years.
