Tetrapak - Tέτραπακ (Album)

Quatre enfants dans une même chambre peuvent vous la retourner en quelques minutes, sautant d'un jeu à l'autre, explorant compulsivement tout le potentiel que leurs offrent les jouets autour d'eux. C'est l'image qui me vient à l'esprit quand j'écoute Tetrapak, collectif grec à quatre têtes : une fois compris que ça ne sert à rien de chercher un sens à cette explosion d'imagination azimutée, il ne me reste plus qu'à observer amusé et impuissant ce joyeux spectacle. Je remettrai ma tête en ordre plus tard.
Et puis je ne vais pas me plaindre car Tέτραπακ est un album génial et fou qui passe par toutes sortes de phases imprévisibles sans aller dans la demi-mesure, regorgeant de pépites épiques, disco, cabaret, spatiales, sucrées mais aussi salées, dédiant les quatres derniers actes aux schnitzels. καλή όρεξη!

Four children in the same room can turn it upside down in a few minutes, jumping from one game to another, exploring in a compulsive way all the potential that offer the toys around them. It is the image that comes to my mind when i listen to Tetrapak, a four headed greek collective: once i understand that it is useless to try to get the sens of this explosion of disorientated imagination, there is nothing for it but to observe amused and helpless this joyful spectacle. I will tidy up my head later.
And what's more i won't complain because  Tέτραπακ is a brilliant and crazy album that crosses all sorts of unpredictable phases without doing things by half, overflowed with epic, disco, cabaret, spatial, sweet but also salty treasures, dedicating  the four last acts to schnitzels. καλή όρεξη!

Andrianette - Mπλάντυ Mέρρυ / Bloody Merry (Album)

11 chansons d’Andrianette au piano dans lesquelles la tonalité omniprésente est aux zones d'ombres. Mπλάντυ Mέρρυ, Bloody Merry donc, littéralement, phonétiquement. Du piano oui, mais pas que, autour de la voix d'Andrianette posant ses poèmes hantés viennent virevolter interférences, chuchotements et apparitions.
Mπλάντυ Mέρρυ pourrait presque servir de bande son pour une adaptation grecque de la légende mexicaine de la Llorona. Bon, cette idée, c’est peut-être parce que mes connaissances en grec sont très limitées et que les traductions en ligne ne sont pas très fiables donc ma perception de la trame qui parcourt ces chansons n’est pas très précise. Andrianette laisse à l'auditeur le choix entre deux fins possible pour son album : sanglante ou joyeuse. Ok, je n'écouterai pas cet album pour mettre l'ambiance dans une soirée entre amis. Quoi que... Mais Mπλάντυ Mέρρυ est une expérience sensorielle qui vaut la peine d'être écoutée, réécoutée et qui mérite le temps d'être apprivoisée.

11 songs on the piano by Andrianette in which the ever-present tone belongs to the dark sides. Mπλάντυ Mέρρυ, Bloody Merry so, litteraly and phonetically. Yes, there is piano but not only, around Andrianette's voice landing her haunted poems come spinning interferences, murmurs and apparitions.
Mπλάντυ Mέρρυ could almost be used as a soundtrack for a greek adaptation of the mexican legend of La Llorona. Well, this idea, maybe it is because my knowledge in greek is very light and online translations are not very reliable so my perception of the thread that runs through these songs is not very accurate. Andrianette leaves it up to the listener to choose between two alternative endings for the album: Bloody or Merry. Ok, i wouldn't play this album to liven things up at a party with friends. Well, maybe... But Mπλάντυ Mέρρυ is a sensory experience that is worth listening, listening again and that deserves the time to be tamed.

Aimée Lê - Aliki In Saigon (EP)

Aimée Lê rencontre Filtig dans cet EP de reprises de la chanteuse et actrice grecque Aliki Vougiouklaki. A la recherche de la traduction parfaite elle a mélangé les langues pour parer aux décalages de sens qu'il peut y avoir entre un mot et sa traduction, le vietnamien côtoie le français, le russe et l'anglais dans un exercice surprenant.
Le résultat de cette recherche forme un ensemble de chansons universelles et hybrides de pop lo-fi et d'électronica qui se termine sur le titre dansant măng cụt / ροδαλή μανγκουστίνα. Certaines chansons sont plus posées et "classiques" comme ở thuyền / μοναχική βάρκα et người lái xe ngựa / ο οδηγός άμαξας tout en ajoutant à l'originalité de l'ensemble.

Aimée Lê meets Filtig in this EP of covers of the greek singer and actress Aliki Vougiouklaki. In search of the perfect translation she has mixed languages in order to deal with gaps of sense between a word and its translation, vietnamese stands alongside french, russian and english in a surprising exercise.
The result of this research forms a bunch of universal and hybrid songs of lo-fi pop and electronica music ending with the dancing track măng cụt / ροδαλή μανγκουστίνα. Some songs are more quiet and 'classical' like ở thuyền / μοναχική βάρκα and người lái xe ngựa / ο οδηγός άμαξας but still adding originality to the whole thing.

ΦΥΤΑ - 14 Days in the Life of a Spicy Pizza: A Study on Folie-A-Deux (Album)

Un tour de pizza en 16 chansons épicées, issues du spectacle de marionnettes 14 Days in the Life of a Spicy Pizza: A Study on Folie-A-Deux, Jules Verne n'aurait pas fait mieux. Mais en même temps, qu'est-ce qu'il viendrait faire là, Jules ? C'est signé ΦΥΤΑ et ça nous est proposé par le label DIY grec Fytini.
Ce n'est pas tous les jours que vous verrez une pizza se transformer en carrousel electronica-pop, l'ensemble est varié mais cohérent (vraiment ?), presque chaque chanson fait référence à une épice ou un ingrédient : poivre, cumin, cannelle, coriandre... sont au menu de ce délire culinaire musical, suffisamment court pour être écouté en boucle.

Around the pizza in 16 spicy songs, from the puppet-show 14 Days in the Life of a Spicy Pizza: A Study on Folie-A-Deux, Jules Verne wouldn't have done better. But well... what would Jules do there? It is signed ΦΥΤΑ and it is offered by the greek DIY label Fytini.
It is not often that you can see your pizza turn into an electronica-pop carrousel, the whole album is varied but coherent - really? - , almost each song refers to a spice or an ingredient: pepper, cumin, cinnamon, coriander... are on the menu of this musical culinary delirium, short enough to be listened to again and again.
