Il était temps pour l'humanité de se refaire ausculter par Bing Selfish. Regard coloré sur des sujets (de diverses époques) qui ne le sont pas forcément, l'humour, le recul et la poésie de The Day I Fell In Love With Everyone permettent de ne pas trop désepérer. Bing Selfish cède parfois le micro à ses musiciens, ce qui pourrait être considéré comme un sacrilège mais qui finalement passe très bien. Un album indispensable du dandy punk britanico-psychédélique, héritier de Syd Barrett, David Bowie et Vic Godard, album qui déborde de mélodies et refrains formidables.

Drôle d'année, je crois que je n'ai pas écouté grand chose de nouveau et pourtant il y a eu de bonnes choses. Dans le désordre :
Strange year, i think i have not listened to many new things but it was a good year though. In no particular order:

COURAGE, MON AMOUR ! by Troy Von Balthazar

Un album dont le nom renvoie à Took Some Money sur son premier album solo, qui s'ouvre sur Black Black, autre référence, à Chokebore cette fois, et qui se termine sur It Ends Like Crazy , nom de l'un de ses albums solo aussi. Amusant. A part ça, Courage Mon Amour ! est une merveille, pas joyeuse mais belle.
The name of the album is taken from Took Some Money on his first solo album, the song Black Black, name of a Chokebore album opens, and the album ends with It Ends Like Crazy, name of another of his solo albums. Amusing. Beside that Courage Mon Amour ! is a wonder, not joyful but beautiful.

Cette année la nouvelle compilation abrite l'unique Bing Selfish, trésor caché du DIY britannique depuis 30 ans ainsi que la folk lo-fi de Matthew Hattie Hein, membre fondateur des New Bad Things dans les années 90 dont les chansons furent reprises par the Delgados ou encore Hefner. Vous y trouverez aussi les barcelonais Kou Keri Kou dont les influences traversent la Méditerranée, un inédit transcendant de la canadienne Eiyn Sof qui a d'ailleurs présenté il y a peu un nouveau projet a tendance électronique The Hologlyph. Un peu de pop paritaire et lo-fi des Chiens De Faïence et Greetings From The Beloved Ghosts, les poèmes psychédéliques de Ray Kosmische, le punk-à-chambre décontracté du danois Tampopo et le duo féminin berlinois Liquorice. De Berlin aussi la moitié de Bisons, Broken Jokes, avec ses photographies musicales contemplatives et le groupe Adventure Team qui clôt avec les français Wonderflu cette compilation dans l'indie rock post-grunge. Et c'est toujours gratuit !

This year the new compilation hosts the unique Bing Selfish, hidden treasure of UK's DIY scene since 30 years along with the lo-fi folk of Matthew Hattie Hein, founding member of the New Bad Things in the 90s whose songs were covered by the Delgados and Hefner. You'll also find Kou Keri Kou from Barcelona with their influences crossing the Mediterranean sea, an unreleased transcendant track from the canadian Eiyn Sof who also presented recently a more electronic project The Hologlyph. A little bit of male/female vocals lo-fi pop from Chiens De Faïence and Greetings From The Beloved Ghosts, the psychedelic poetry of Ray Kosmische, the laid back bedroom-punk of Tampopo from Denmark and the female duo from Berlin Liquorice. From Berlin also one half of Bisons, Broken Jokes, with his contemplative musical photographs and the band Adventure Team who close with the french Wonderflu this compilation with post-grunge indie-rock. Il ne se passe pas grand chose sur ce blog, non parce que rien d'intéressant ne sort mais par manque de temps et j'espère pouvoir rattraper mon retard.
Voici déjà le génial bING Selfish qui a sorti en décembre dernier In Off​-​On​-​a​-​Tangent Park, un album qui débarque quelques semaines à peine après le décès du guitariste Simon King.
bING Selfish mêle avec toujours autant de talent et de sensibilité humour et politique, un humour à prendre au sérieux, sa voix irrévérencieuse et ses compositions inspirées y veillent.

Here's for a start the great bING Selfish who has released last december In Off​-​On​-​a​-​Tangent Park, an album that shows up a few weeks only after the death of guitarist Simon King.
